BORKOVIĆ CONTINUES WITH GREAT PERFORMANCE IN BAHRAIN Featured

Serbian race car driver finished forth and scored 12 new points in the first TCR International race in Bahrain.

The best Serbian race car driver Dusan DUKE Borkovic continues with the great performance at the second TCR International weekend. He finished 4th in his Alfa Romeo Giulietta #62 and scored 12 points in the first race on Sakhir circuit in Bahrain.

After the free practices yesterday when he almost hit the barrier when he lost his breaks Borkovic was hoping for a better day today. Air temperature was 40 degrees and track temperature 90 Celsius, which resulted in high tyre consumption and the most important goal is to finish the race.

Borković finished 9th in qualifying, but because of Homola’s technical penalty he started the race from 8th position. Borkovic started well and in few laps overtook Ficza and Vernay, few moments later Borkovic and Vernay both pass James Nash. Dusan’s teammate Kajaia had to return to pit due to the problems with the drive shaft, Serbian champion came to the 4th position.

Race was cut short to 20 minutes because of Formula 1 event and it was not certain that Borkovic would have time to pass Corthals. However Dusan closed down on Corthals and tried to overtake him. Vernay takes advantage of the duel between Borkovic and Corthals and comes to the 3rd position while Borkovic manages to pass Corthals despite the power steering problem.

The second race is tomorrow at 12CET and Dusan starts from the 2nd position, with a live broadcast on RTS 2 channel.
